I have never said the ps3 sucks. I'm sorry if the facts lead you to believe the ps3 will suck. I actually think it will be decent and at some point there should be some great games once the developers figure out how to get the most out of it. And the info I posted isn't from an xbox site. I know you wish it was. lol....Its from IGN. Its a system comparisson with the data that was given by Sony and Microsoft. Unless the specs change for the better, which with them announcing they are goi...
What do you think of the PS3's Cell architecture? How much harder is it for developers to write asymmetric multiprocessing code that will run on the PPE and the SPE's? How difficult will it be to port code that is tuned for the Cell over to the 360 while maintaining good performance? Do you think Sony made the architecture complex deliberately to make porting that way harder, or were they just trying to get maximum performance out of their system?
I don't think the Cell is as w...
Lol.....Half the stuff I said is not true? You just don't want to believe it huh? And to the other guy who said its from a 360 web site. You lied. Everything I typed is from IGN. It was a system comparisson using the tech info given by Sony and Microsoft. By the way everything that was stated has been confirmed by Developers over and over again. The 360 is a dream machine for programmers and the ps3 is not ideal for game developement. Will there be great games for the ps3. I would be...
CPU
The Xbox 360 processor was designed to give game developers the power that they actually need, in an easy to use form. The Cell processor has impressive streaming floating-point power that is of limited use for games.
The majority of game code is a mixture of integer, floating-point, and vector math, with lots of branches and random memory accesses. This code is best handled by a general purpose CPU with a cache, branch predictor, and vector unit.

When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has provably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance. The truth is that both systems pack a lot of power for high definition games and entertainment.
However, hardware performance, while important, is only a third of the puzzle. Xbox 360 is a fusion of hardware, software and services. Without the software and services to power it, even the most...
Even ignoring the bandwidth limitations the PS3's GPU is not as powerful as the Xbox 360's GPU.
Below are the specs from Sony's press release regarding the PS3's GPU.
RSX GPU
550 MHz
Independent vertex/pixel shaders
51 billion dot products per second (total system performance)
300M transistors
136 "shader operations" per clock
The interesting ALU performance numbers are 51 bil...
Its graphics card is not even close to the new Geforce 7950 cards. The ps3 graphics is already out dated. Think about it. When they review games for the ps3 they will compare it to a high end computer using the new Graphics cards and there will be no comparisson. Then what will ps3 fans say? lol.... Here is the Nvideas new video cards out. yes...1 gig of ram. Now thats memory. Ps3 has 256 ram dedicated to graphics. Thats bismal for gaming. Definately not next gen.

There are 48 shader units in the Xbox 360 GPU, but given that we're dealing with a unified shader architecture, you can't compare that number directly to the 24 shader pipelines of the GeForce 7800 GTX for example. We roughly estimated the shader processing power of the Xbox 360 GPU to be similar to that of a 24-pipeline ATI R420 GPU.
You can't directly compare it to a Computer GPU. So they estimated. lol... But ATI the maker of both said you can't compare and that the 360 G...
You said...."If xflop is so good, so why does it run a 1st gen Oblivion like a mid to low end PC? ROFL that's just too funny, like a mid to low end PC".
First of all when they compared oblivion on the 360 to oblivion on the PC. They showed that the 360 version looked better and ran better than every version except the High end pc version. And it wasn't a big difference and not enough difference to brag about. Another thing. When they compared the High end pc versi...
First a bit of history. Back in June Kotaku posted an IM conversation with an alleged PS3 developer. That developer stated that CELL yields were low, and that the already reduced 3.2 GHz CPU speed (from a promised 3.5 GHz) could end up being as low as 2.8 GHz. (He also stated that there would likely be an external power supply, which I 100% believe to be the case.) Anyway, at the time I found the conversation a fascinating read because it struck me as very credible.
I don’t kno...
Like I said. I have never bashed the ps3. I report the news I don't make up the news. lol....Its not my fault things don't look good for sony. I hope they can come through even though it looks doubtful from a unbiased perspective. You just posted my posts that proves my point. I don't bash the ps3. Thats all word for word quotes from people who get paid for their factual analysts. If there were favorable stuff about the ps3...I would be reporting that as well. I'm sorry the Truth does...
whats wrong with you? I have never ever made fanboy comments. I have never said the ps3 sucks or will suck. I have never ever said the 360 is better than the ps3. I only post info that is given by developers themselves or articles from gaming web sites. It just so happens most of the news if favorable for the 360. But calling me a fanboy and you can't name one thing I have ever wrote that compares to what you and others write. Example...."ps3 is going to blow the 360 away"......
50 player multiplayer was capable on the xbox. And is capable on the 360. But its up to the developers. They decide what is the best amount of people online for that particlar game. Its not nothing new folks. Now as far as you making any claims about Sony's online or Sony's Launch lineup...you can hope but as of today you can't say what games will be launching. Show me a link with confirmed launch games...lol...You can't. Only 2 games are confirmed for launch as of now. Sonic the hedg...
If yall thought Motostorm looked good on the ps3 screen shots....get a load of this. WOW...No Jaggies, ultra realistic....This is what next gen rally racing should look like. But if you only get a ps3 you can get this game to as it will be ported to the ps3 in 2007. So there, good news after all. These are 360 screens. No Jaggies...

PlayStation 2 has a share of 60% of the video game console market, while Apple's computer market share has hovered in the 2-3% range. We believe that under Kutargai's techno-elite PlayStation 3 strategy, the PlayStation 3 could end up with a market share more resembling Apple products as opposed to the dominant PlayStation 2 market share.
Only half a year into the consoles life and games are already looking amazing. I like the fact that you don't have to wait 4 years for developers to tap into the next gen power of the 360. Hey, does ayone know if the ps3 will be getting NCAA Football this year? I hope so because this game owns all sports games. WOW...

Although the franchise is one of gaming's longest running sports series, NCAA Football is, in many ways, a game of firsts. Never before has a college football game been this fun or looked this good. The level of visual brilliance featured in NCAA 07 is unrivaled in any current sports game, even outdoing EA's own masterpiece, FIFA World Cup.

DFC Intelligence has just released a 600 page report with their latest forecast for the interactive entertainment industry. In this report, the company predicts several different scenarios for each console. The report notices:
We emphasize that there is a great deal of uncertainty because much will depend on how individual players execute their strategies over the next several years. However, two things are clear: 1) the high price of the PlayStation 3 is going to slow overall...
This is a Lie......"Never before in the history of console gaming (or as long as we can remember, anyhow) has there been a FPS game that allowed 40 players to go crazy on a virtual battlefield. Until the PS3 came along, that is."
But other than the lie, there was a game on the xbox supported 50 players online, The game looks good. This is then only game thus far that sparks my interest in the ps3. But not because of the 40 player multiplayer, been there done that, but b...
This batch of screens don't look good. Honestly. They look considerably worse than the screens they were showing a few months ago. I figured those screens back then were CG but these ingame shots aren't impressive. Look at the textures and the Charactors. If this is how the game will look it will get bashed big time by reviewers. As far as launch 360 games. They definely looked next gen. Sure some were missing features...like the sports games. But you can take any launch game and sho...
